I felt compelled to ask everyone up here if I sound funny when I talk. Well, not sound funny, but if have a weird accent. Before I begin, let me share a short story...
When I was in..4th or 5th grade, I remember receiving an award that had to do with me speaking English very very well. At first, I was confused because there were alot of other students who spoke as well as I did. But! I then found out that the award was for students who weren't caucasian! And what made it even more amazing was the fact that I was the only student that got the award, which meant a big awards ceremony with lots of old people that looked important, music and FOOD! That's all...a very random and not so great story.
SO! For some odd reason, I've been getting playing back this memory in my head daily...and one morning during turnover, I asked Caitlin if I talk funny. I now realize that I say the most random things whenever I talk to Caitlin, which then results to lots of laughter and me having to explain myself. She tells me that I do have a funny accent, but not an asian one. I asked her to elaborate some more and she, with short bursts of giggles in between every other word tells me that I talk in question marks. Like..." I ate sushi today? And I probably ate too much?"
Notice the bolded "shi" and "too". She also pointed out that whenever I talk in my question marks or just overall, I tend to exaggerate words or parts of words and say them in a higher pitch than my regular speaking voice.
Am I even making any sense? I can't tell you. But you can tell me! :)
I got attacked by a squirrel today. Holy cow, that's definitely a story I need to save for another post. I really enjoy having stare offs with squirrels. I've never beaten a squirrel at a stare off, partly because I feel as if they're going to pounce on me and rip me to shreds.
Yeah, a tiny squirrel, ripping me to shreds. It can happen.

Burn Piles
This week is Spring Break for the kids down in the valley, which means no Outdoor Ed and lots of stuff to burn for us :). It gets pretty exhausting to tell you the truth. During my lunch break, I walked into the dining hall, looked out the huge window, saw the pool and couldn't help but jump in.
It was freezing.
But SOOOOO refreshing! The heat from the burn piles seemed to have consumed my entire body and I felt as if I was on fire, until my body hit that ridiculously fridged water. I was tempted to keep my clothes on, including my shoes, but took all but my boxers off. I jumped in a total of three times, two of those were after I had eaten lunch. One of the times Tony saw, which wasn't akward for me, but I don't know how he feels about seeing me in nothing but my boxers, jumping into a body of water that can kill me in minutes. haha.
I got my haircut tonight. I like it alot. I have a fauxhawk now. Is that how you spell it? I always want to pronounce it "foxhawk".
Tomorrow is my day off and I have a huge desire and urge to jog/run all the way down to the 41 and back. And, my jumprope has done me good since I've gotten it. I forgot what a GREAT workout you can get by jumproping for just half an hour. I love it!
This week has reminded me alot of the interim period after summer is over, before Common Fire starts. No guests are here, small amount of staff members on the mountain(a few are on vacation...or will be) there's not really a set daily schedule(just 8 to 5) and...it's quiet.
Wait, I'm lying. Belle barks all the time, at nothing.
Nothing.

And...
...it's snowing really really hard. I don't think I'll be able to do most of my to do list for this weekend if the weather stays consistent. I can only limit myself to a few indoor activities, like playing my guitar(which I already did, I taught Ann some worship songs) laundry...lots and lots of it, reading, blogging(hah!) engaging in conversations, napping(which I really don't want to do), eating...and I'm running out of things to do. Help me.
I want to go snow shoeing, but it's literally storming right now. It's coming down like there's no tomorrow.
I feel like I'm making excuses for some reason. I really just need to shut up and be quiet.

Weekend off...
I have a few ideas about what I want to do, but truthfully, I don't think it'll be enough to make it a productive/relaxing weekend off. Not that I want my entire weekend to be this carefully, planned out mess that would disappoint me if I didn't fufill any of them...but I want to at least have an idea of what I want to do. I don't think I'm making any sense, to you and myself.
I've started cleaning the pool 2 days ago. I first found out my love for pool maintenence my first summer on staff on the Event's team. I love keeping it clean and clear, free of bugs, leaves and grass blades floating aimlessly on top of the water. I enjoy putting DH into the filters and rinsing out the pumps. There's this sense of peace that overcomes me whenever I dive to the bottom to retrieve pieces of tiles that have fallen off of the pool walls. I'm weird, I know. That's basically one of the things I'm going to do my entire weekend to pass time, cleaning the pool. Not that any of us will be able to swim in it soon since it's still so darn cold...and will be up until like, the second week of June. I just want to maintain it and not have to cringe whenever I pass by and see this huge nastiness of black stuff and gross algae. Anyways, people have been telling me "Hey, if you really enjoy it, go for it! I wouldn't do it, but since you are...go you." hahaha. I love the simple things in life.
My home smells good. My home being Calvin Crest. I was walking along the AIM trail and naturally took in a huge, deep breath through my nose and couldn't help but thank the Lord for CLEAN air. Living in Bakersfield for 6 years and Fresno for 4 months has done quite a deal to my lungs. I miss Long Beach.
I had a really good conversation with Janice tonight.

A fine day off...
My day off was pretty relaxing and productive at the same time. I showered, played on my drumset, traversed on the bouldering wall, did some archery, made mac and cheese with chopped up hot links(delicious!!!), bought a new sweater, ate some gummi bears, rollerbladed up and down CC road(INTENSE!!!!!!!hahahah)...andddd yeah...that was some of the things I did today.
I'm really bummed that I didn't get my package today. I bought a jumprope a while ago and it was suppose to come in on Friday but didn't. I've been really looking forward to doing a new cardiovascular excerise besides running and jumping jacks. But...I'll just have to wait till tomorrow, hopefully.
